How To Sell Your Car

FAQ

How do you determine the price you will pay me for my car?
We use leading auto valuation sites such as vAuto, Manheim Market Report as well as some of the popular consumer sites such as Kelley Blue Book and Black Book. We look at local market conditions and the statistics from these websites to get you the most for your car. Our process is transparent. We’re happy to show you how we make our calculation.

Are there certain cars you are not interested in buying?
In a word: no. As long as the vehicle runs we are interested in purchasing it. Whether you have a 20-year-old hatchback with 200,000 miles on it or a nearly-new luxury car we will pay you top dollar.

What if I am not sure sure I want to accept your offer?
No problem. Our appraisal is good for 7 days. Take your time and think about it, we want you to be comfortable and not feel pressured.

Can I get my car appraised online?
All appraisals are done in person. To determine a fair value we will need to inspect and test drive your car. When we’re done, we’ll give you a written offer good for seven days.

Can you show me how you arrived at the appraised value of my car?
Yes. We can show you the various online sources and guides we use to determine a vehicle’s value. Our process is transparent. We want you to know what we know.

Why does your written offer differ from retail prices?
Every used vehicle we receive goes through our reconditioning process which fixes mechanical and cosmetic issues. This way we can we assure that the next owner is getting a quality vehicle. In order to cover the cost of this reconditioning our offer may differ from what you see a similar vehicle retailing for.

Will making modifications to my car affect the appraised value?
Supply and demand is what determines the value of any used car. Some aftermarket features may enhance the value of a vehicle, others will detract from it’s value. Some aftermarket modifications may void the factory warranty, which would reduce the appraised value.

What if all title holders cannot be present or one is deceased?
If all title holders cannot be present, you must speak to a Business Office Associate before we can purchase your car or take it in trade. Typically all title holders must sign in our presence as a safeguard.

What if I owe more on my car than the amount of your appraisal offer?
If your pay-off amount is more than the offer for your car, the difference is called “negative equity.” In some cases, the negative equity can be included in your financing when you buy another car. If not, we’ll calculate the difference between your pay-off and our offer to you and you can pay us directly. Please consult a business manager to see acceptable methods of payment.

What if I have a lien on my car?
We will need to contact your bank (lien holder) during business hours to get a payoff. To pay off the lien, we will need your lien holder’s name and phone number, the name(s) on the account, and your lien holder’s account number and social security number. If a previously paid-off lien is listed on the title, you’ll need both the title and the lien release from the lien holder before we can purchase your car.
